Casa Nicola Las Vegas
May 01, 2012
Dining at Casa Nicola, in the Las Vegas Hotel, was the perfect choice for our last night in Las Vegas after the B2V Relay Race.
As soon as we sat down, we were presented with a basket filled with three different, hot, artisanal breads, with wedges of butter stab garnished with a sprig of rosemary.
I also had a glass of pinot grigio.
Let me share what other wonderful things we had to eat...
Our appetizers started out with
Carpaccio Di Manzo con Arugula E Parmigiano. Thin slices of beef tenderloin with arugula, shaved Parmesan and drizzled with truffle oil.
Also on the plate were some wonderful caperberries. To be honest, I didn't know what they were until I bit into one. I have since purchased some. Love the lemon cozy.
Along with the carpaccio we had
Bruschetta, grilled ciabatta bread with chopped fresh tomato basil, garlic, oregano and drizzled with olive oil; it was served over a balsamic vinegar reduction.
Marit's meal was
Antipasto Della Casa. Imported Italian meats and cheese with grilled vegetables, roasted sweet bell peppers and buffalo mozzarella.
It was a nice light dinner for her and what little nibbles I got, it was wonderful.
I had the
Linguine Alle Vongole, linguine pasta with clams, garlic, white wine and Italian parsley with white sauce. I can't tell you how delicious this was, it was by far the best I've ever had, and having the clams still in the shells was quite a treat.
After dinner I had a dessert coffee with sambuca, mmm nice and hot and full of anise flavor.
Marit had a cappucino, the stir stick was rock candy, how cute is that.
It was overall a wonderful meal. But then again, how could you not have great food while In Las Vegas.
And that's that.
