Bringing in the cabbage
Prime Rib Roast

Meat my Butcher (get it meat ;-)

One of the many things I like about living in the backcountry is our little Mom and Pop grocery store.

I go here when I need meat and to pick up a few things. Even though it's ten miles away, It beats driving double that to shop at a major market I'm not crazy about anyway. And we have on the premises a real...

Butcher

living, breathing, butcher. Yes, a cut the meat himself, nothing plastic pre-wrapped butcher.

That's my prime rib roast sitting up there on the scale.

He started working with his dad, who was a custom butcher, when he was ten years old and has been been a butcher ever since.

Let's look at the meat cases.

Where's the beef

And he carries Harris Ranch Beef Yippiee!!!!!!!!!

Meat counter

For a small butcher shop he as a pretty good selection of meats.

Carne asada

And if you don't get there early enough you won't get any Carne or Pollo Asada.

While we were there we bought another pound of his homemade breakfast sausage, we've learned to get while the gettin's good. That sells out fast too.

HIs butcher shop is inside the

Mountain Market in Pine Valley CA.
