Yes Virginia, buffaloes have wings
December 30, 2008
And mighty good ones at that.
On Saturday we were still in Lake Havasu visiting daughter and family. Early in the morning it was decided a trip to Bullhead City was in order. They have a Tarjay, Kohls, Ross, etc...Oh yea! and a Marshalls. Wait till you see what I got. Sorry, I digress, this post is supposed to be about the food.
We got some serious shopping done and had lunch at a restaurant called Buffalo Wild Wings. They had been there before and highly recommended it. Hey, wings and beer, count-me-in.
C'mon, let's go get a cold one.
Hefeweizen mmmm one of my favorite beers.
It has your typical sports bar decor and obligatory 50 T.V. screens.
Great patio with a fireplace and beautiful view.
Now, let's get down to business.
First order was the mild wings, grandkids you know. We could have gotten some hotter sauce to dip them in but honestly the mild was just fine. They were great and had a nice little bite to them.
Stan had the Chicken Tenders salad. You can have the chicken tenders tossed in your choice of any of their 14 different sauces. Stan chose the Honey BBQ sauce, they bill it as a "sweet sassy sauce." I know it was really good because that's all Stan could say while he was eating it, "This is really good" several times I heard "This is really good." That and the fact that I only got one teensy little bite was proof that, it was really good.
BJ had a chicken sandwich. I don't remember which one he chose but everyone agreed it was delicious. Instead of fries we all had the buffalo chips, nice coins of fried potatoes that are crispy on the outside and soft inside. I don't think any of these were leftover.
Here's the mouth cam. Real chicken breast, not recycled bits and pieces compressed into a patty.
See how thin and crispy the breading is? I've gotta try this next time we go there.
Erika and I each ordered a side salad,
and split a Black and Blue burger. It had Cajun spices and was topped with a blue cheese dressing.
They flame broil their burgers. It was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had, and trust me, I've had some pretty good burgers. See how juicy the meat is, oh my.
Yes, the boys were allowed to eat. They had chicken tenders and fries. ;-)
Our waitress Gina St. Clair is probably one of the best waitresses on the planet. It's obvious she loves her job and knows her business and she called me honey, gotta love that girl.
We'll be back for sure.
