Mario's Restaurant. Lake Havasu City AZ
December 28, 2008
We are spending a chilly Christmas season in the AZ desert with daughter Erika, B.J. and the boys.
This means of course, lots of eating, playing games, shopping and more eating, playing games and shopping.
We arrived Wed afternoon after a leisurely drive up. We grazed along the way eating at some fast food "restaurants" to satisfy our junk food fix. That should do us for a while now.
Our plans upon arrival was to have dinner that night at a new restaurant in town called Mario's Italian Restaurant.
Nice lighting for dining, but not really great for photography. But, what the heck, they are a restaurant not a camera shop.
We started with some appetizers,
Deep fried zucchini and
stuffed mushrooms.
Our waiter Justin was very informed and helpful with our dinner choices.
The salad is served family style so Jarod became the designated salad server. He's serving his dad some salad.
We like garlic bread with our salads.
Stan had the Steak Gorgonzola that was served with a side of spaghetti marinara and scalloped potatoes. The steak was cooked med rare just like he ordered. It was delicious.
I took some photos with the flash, something I try not to do in restaurants. It can be annoying to other diners and it just doesn't do the food justice.
Can we say carb overload here? It was all good though and they made great leftovers the next day.
I had the Seafood Portofino. Clams, mussels, scallops and shrimp in a garlic white wine sauce. Absolutely fabulous.I gave it a light sprinkling of red pepper flakes and I was in heaven.
Stan, Erika, Jarod and...
Jeremy and me.
We all dove into some Tiramisu. One of the best I've had.
One more wonderful dining place to look forward to on my next trip.
